Roll-On's

Malama Blend

The Malama Blend was created to protect and defend the body from invading airborne microorganisms.  A blend of Clove, Lemon, Cinnamon Bark, Eucalyptus Radiata & Rosemary, which when combined, dates back to legends of the 15th century where thieves would rub botanicals on themselves to avoid contracting the plague while they robbed the bodies of the dead and dying.  A study conducted during a 1997 demonstration at Weber State University (Ogden, UT) showed that after 10 minutes of diffusing Thieves Essential there was an, “82 percent reduction in the gram positive Micrococcus luteus organism bioaerosol, a 96 percent reduction in gram negative Pseudomonas aeruginosa organism bioaerosol, and a 44 percent reduction in S. aureus bioaerosol (Chao SC, et al., 1998)."  Our Malama Blend also contains hints of Pine, which can be used to treat throat/lung/sinus infections, rheumatism/ arthritis, skin parasites and urinary tract infection.

Ho'ola Blend

“Ho’ola” meaning to give life, heal, to cure, carries properties known to fragrantly purify and stimulate the conscious mind, it also influences well-being, promotes health and healing.  Researchers from the University of Kiel, found that Peppermint, an herb infused in our Ho’ola Blend, “lessened headache pain in a double-blind, placebo-controlled, cross-over study.”  Peppermint was also found to soothe digestion, pain relief, is antiparisitic (worms), antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antitumoral and helps with fungal infections.  Its uses can be helpful with rheumatism/arthritis, respiratory infections, viral infections, nausea, and digestive problems.  Another essential oil found in Ho’ola is Eucalyptus Globulus, which often benefits the respiratory system as was shown through laboratory results, “to be a powerful antimicrobial agent”.  A powerful insect repellent, Eucalyptus trees, in North Africa, were planted to block off the spread of malaria.  Per Jean Valnet, MD, a solution of 2 percent eucalyptus oil sprayed on the skin will kill 70 percent of ambient staph bacteria.  As an expectorant, Eucalyptus is used for respiratory/sinus infections and as a decongestant.  Eucalyptus has also been found to be antimicrobial, anti bacterial, antifungal, antiviral and anti-aging.  Indications of Eucalyptus Globulus are asthma, candida, coughs, diabetes, herpes, hypoglycemia, lungs, measles, headaches, respiratory infections, sinusitis, shingles and tuberculosis.  Rosemary, the final oil infused in Ho’ola (as mentioned above in “Malama,”) was one of the herbs used by thieves to rob from the dead during the plague.  Later cultures believed Rosemary would ward off devils.  This theory was eventually adopted by the sick to protect against infection.  Hospitals, in France use Rosemary today to disinfect the air due to its fragrant influences of improving mental clarity, focus and helped overcome mental fatigue.  Our blend would be best used on the: abdomen, temples, chakras and/or vita flex points.

Ho'onanea Blend

Our Ho’onanea Blend is infused with the essential oils of Lavender, Orange and Cedarwood.  Its purpose is to harbor a relaxing atmosphere for one to rest and unwind.  Lavender, a major component found in Ho’onanea, is one of the few essential oils still listed in the British Pharmacopoeia.  It has medical properties of being antiseptic, antifungal, analgesic, antitumoral, anticonvulsant and more commercially as a relaxant.  While fragrantly lavender can be used to calm, relax and balance the body both physically and mentally, can also be used for respiratory infections, high blood pressure, menstrual problems/ PMS, insomnia and nervous tension.  Orange, another property found in Ho’onanea, when cold pressed from the rind, is also shown to reduce anxiety.  Beloved for its clean, fresh scent, Orange, lowers salivary cortisol levels and pulse rates (Jafarzadeh, 2013), rich in limonene, which has been extensively studied in over 50 clinical studies for its ability to combat tumor growth, making it useful towards cancer, arteriosclerosis, hypertension and fluid retention.  Citrus fragrances were also found to boost immunity, induce relaxation, and reduce depression (Mie University, Komori, et al., 1995).  Both a traditional medicine and incense in Tibet, Cedarwood, today can still be found in medicines.  Medically, Cedarwood, has properties of being antibacterial and a lymphatic stimulant.  Fragrantly, Cedarwood, “stimulates the limbic region of the brain (the center of emotions) and stimulates the pineal gland, which releases melatonin.
